Andrew Tremayne came to us at a major turning point in his professional life: after 20 successful years as a lawyer specializing in labour and employment law with EmondHarnden LLP in Ottawa, he had decided to leave the firm and work as an independent arbitrator, investigator and mediator. He needed to establish himself and his private practice in a new field—giving potential clients a clear, confident picture of his service offering. In short, he needed a brand identity and communications tools to support it, and engaged with gordongroup to help.
The main project was andrewtremayne.com, his practice website. The challenge with the site content was to explain the complexity of arbitration, investigation and mediation in a way that potential clients could understand, so they would opt in rather than going the way of a lawsuit. The site needed to position Andrew as a skilled and trustworthy professional who could handle sensitive disputes.
We began with background research, including a look at the competitive landscape within the rather small cohort of arbitrators and mediators across Canada. We interviewed Andrew to get to know his personality and accomplishments, as well as his goals and requirements for the site. Next, we conducted creative sessions to generate ideas and from this process, our creative team came up with a logo and a visual identity that we applied to the site designs as well as business cards, letterhead and other office materials.
The site content we developed showcases Andrew’s services and make a strong case for taking the route of arbitration; other pages outline Andrew’s work experience and accomplishments, availability and contact information. The custom designed and built website will help Andrew to stand out in his field, providing clients with a clear and appealing brand.
